Frequently Asked Questions

What is hypnosis, anyway?
It is a state of heightened awareness, defined by the US government as, “bypass of the critical factor of the conscious mind combined with the establishment of selective thinking.”

Will I be unconscious?
No. You will be aware of all sounds around you at all times.

Will I remember everything that happened in trance?

Absolutely.

Can I be hypnotized?
Sure, and you have been many times. Ever been entranced by music, art, film, or dance? You were in a state of trance. And that’s hypnosis.

What does it feel like?
Hypnosis feels like daydreaming.

Does the hypnotist control me?
No, the hypnotist guides you. And, if at any time you want to emerge from the state for any reason, you will instantly, naturally open your eyes and become fully alert. No one can keep you in hypnosis against your will.

Isn’t all hypnosis self-hypnosis?
Yes. To get optimal results, a qualified, board certified hypnotist is best.

How do hypnosis sessions proceed?
First, the hypnotist explains hypnosis and answers any questions you may have.  Second, you discuss your goals or issues with the hypnotist. Third, the hypnotist guides you into a state of deep relaxation and mental alertness in which you will be fully aware of everything going on around you. Various techniques are used to clarify the underlying cause of your problem, and additional techniques resolve them. Then you are emerged. Last, the hypnotist reviews the session with you.

Are sessions taped?
You may bring a video or other recorder for your own use. I do not tape or video record any sessions.

What do sessions cost?
$100 per session, lasting about 2 hours. Cash and checks accepted.

Is there a charge for cancelled sessions?
No.

Can I get a free phone consultation?
Sure.

How many sessions does it take?
3 to 6 for most issues for good, lasting results. No package deals are offered, since some clients only need one or two sessions. This means you pay for each session at its conclusion.

How Often Will My Sessions Happen?
Typically once a week.

Can sessions be done by telephone?
Yes, and many clients prefer them. You pay for the call, and it’s still cheaper and less nuisance than driving. You may use a bluetooth, speakerphone or headset, if you like. And you’ll need a distraction-free two-hour block of time, and a comfy chair or recliner. The cost is the same, $100 for a two-hour session.

Will my insurance pay for hypnosis?
Almost never.

Can I deduct my sessions on my taxes?
Some folks can. For instance, hypnosis works great for sales motivation, and if you are able to deduct your sales expenses, it is deductible as an expense.

What is your policy on Privacy and Confidentiality?
Your privacy is assured on many levels. First, no personal details of your issues are ever released to third parties without your permission. Second, the hypnotist never tells anyone that you are a client. Third, during the session, you may choose to share the insights and memories that surface, or not; it can be preferable to tell the hypnotist everything, but that is your decision. Fourth, Miss Beaudry takes session notes in longhand, and you may certainly request copies. Fifth, you are welcome to video or audiotape the sessions for your own use.

What about stage hypnosis?
I don't prefer it, but can do it.
